This romance was a lot of fun. It charmed me. Benji has a big ole crush on Simon. Benji is a sexy ginger IT nerd and Simon is a hot mess of a love advice columnistBenji is great and I am not always sure what he sees in Simon but Benji is in it to win it.
Simon takes a long time to parse out taking risks, holding out on to fantasy, and being loved. He does it and we get a romance over a long period of time which I adore.
We get the crush, date, mess up, try again, dating, living together, proposal, marriage. I love it when a writer lets us see all those phases of a couple in one book.
I am super into nerdy characters and I get that joy here too with banter and good friends. Plus, sexy times, a dog, and cat as well other life adventures.
This is a light read which I can see myself rereading.
It does have editing issues in terms of the time jumps or scene changes. It needed markers badly and I am not sure why the publisher didn't make those happen.
If you are looking to smile, and sigh in frustration at Simon's very human foul ups, and smile again, check this one out--it is worth the high price tag.

Spice Lilah Suzanne 9781941530252 Books Reviews
I'm sorry. I don't usually leave low scoring ratings, but with this one, I couldn't not express my disappointment.
Let me say that I admire anyone who can write a book, so I don't mean to take away from the author that accomplishment.
As a rule, I am generally driven to complete every book, but I just couldn't with this one. I didn't even make it a third of the way through before returning it for the $8 refund.
The premise sounded interesting, and the reviews said it was fun and funny, but that wasn't my experience.
My issue with this book was that is was choppy and chaotic. It felt like each scene was one paragraph long, jumping from office to home to a friend's wedding, to the vet. I really wish the scenes and characters had been fleshed out further. Same thing with the dialogue between Stuart and Benji; their interactions were short and superficial. I wanted to like Stuart, but there wasn't much to like or even know about him; Benji was likable, but, again, he was pretty one dimensional. There was just nothing to establish any emotional or intellectual connection with either of the main characters as a reader, or even to buy the connection between them.
The best I can say is that the most well thought out and expressed parts of this book were the advice column intros at the beginning of each chapter. Those were clever.
All of it--the plot, the characters, the premise--had potential, but it just didn't work for me.
I found this to be not only an easy read, but a truly enjoyable one. I could not finish my chores, because the next chapter was waiting for me in the other room. I never wanted it to end.
Relatable and cute storyline on how the geek and the nerd unite! There was quite a bit of character development, despite this being a relatively short story
A very enjoyable read!
I enjoyed this book very much. There was enough of everything, love, passion, plot, secondary characters and a happy ending. Nothing over the top or extremely unbelievable. My only critic was the jump, ( moving in together) in the middle of the book, but it didn't take away from the story. I would definitely read another book by Lilah Suzanne.
This was such a fun story. The banter between Simon and Benji was lovely. The Ask Eros columns that telegraphed the content of the chapters were so fun. The characters of Simon and Benji are painted beautifully and I love that I can hear their intonation in my head while reading their dialogue. Did I mention the dialogue of the book is the very best? Because it is!
The pacing was a little jumpy and the time-leaps were a little jarring and pulled me out of the story from time to time.
Really though, Benji and Simon are delightful and I would recommend this as a really fun read.
Cute as pie, sexy in all the right places, and sweetly original. Am I talking about Benji, the dorky love interest who sweeps Simon off his feet, or the book? Does it matter?
Look, I get it. It's a romance novel, and you're tired of those (thanks, Nicholas "everything I touch is ruined" Sparks). But this is everything I ever wanted (lies I wish Tia was real. I wish she was my boss.) Simon and Benji are adorable, the sexy bits were *woooh*, and the development of their relationship was wonderful comforting slow-burn. Yeah, it's a fluffy, tropey romance novel. Yes, I was drinking hot cocoa and reading this under a fluffy blanket. Your point?
